MEET THE FOUNDERMeredith McKenzie
Meredith McKenzie is a southern-based interior designer known for creating thoughtfully curated homes with a fresh take on traditional designs. She founded The Selective Design to help families achieve timeless, tailored interiors that balance beauty, comfort, and everyday living. With over 18 years of design experience and an honors degree in interior design from the University of Georgia, she pours her heart and expertise into every project. Together with her team, they offer a seamless process, collaborative spirit, and an intuitive approach to each project. MEET THE ASSOCIATE PRINCIPALShivani Vyas
Shivani Vyas serves as Associate Principal at The Selective Design, helping lead the firm’s design projects, client experience, and daily studio operations. A longtime design writer as well, Shivani enjoys sharing inspiration and industry perspective through articles and online content across the web. You’ll often find Meredith and Shivani contributing advice to various publications and co-authoring their interior design column in Macon Magazine. Shivani also writes for Better Homes & Gardens and Georgia Design Magazine. And over the years, she has been recognized by Fixr as one of the Top 123 Interior Design Experts (2023-2025) and most recently, as one of the Top 10 Interior Design Journalists Shaping Trends in 2025 by Decorilla.
